Welcome to my first ever traffic report! I love reading these types of posts from so many different bloggers, but I’ve never seen any from any blogger who doesn’t get a crazy substantial amount of page views. Many times, I find myself being discouraged by other’s huge numbers, so today I’m sharing with you my blog’s growth over the past few weeks. These are not super high numbers, but I hope to inspire you (yes, you! Get inspired!) that everyone goes at their own pace and to be happy about every milestone 🙂 Without further ado, I present my October 2015 Traffic Report!
Page views // Sessions // Unique Users
This month was crazy! I mean, this coming from a small blogger, I’m psyched. I went from 200 pageviews to almost 2,000 from September to October! Gah, so many exclamation points. I’m now getting around 100-200 pageviews per day versus the per month I received last month. My unique users are up 1,2010%. Uhhh, say what?! Almost 1,400 people visited my blog last month! That’s almost the same as the amount of students that went to my high school. I don’t know about you, but that’s pretty mind blowing to me.
Cue the typical blogger word vomit… Pinterest. Oh goodness, my new fave social network (besides Twitter). I didn’t believe the hype behind it until I actually had a nice little conversation with myself that went a little something like …
“Self, if everyone and their mother is doing something and seeing success from it, why are you so reluctant to at least try? What’s the harm in putting a pretty picture up on your Pinterest and seeing where it goes?”
And here, my traffic boomed. Here’s the cool catch: I only have 41 Pinterest followers.
I plan on doing a more detailed post on my Pinterest journey thus far. Often, I feel like it’s easier to learn from a beginner versus someone who’s been doing their whole sha-bang for years and years and years. You can sign up for my newsletter so you don’t miss that post! Let’s just say, for now, that using Pinterest takes up about 5 minutes of my day, twice a day and that’s it. I have so much more room to grow and this is just the beginning, but I’m off to such a great start! 🙂
Continue to work on Pinterest. Why stop when it’s working so well?
Up my reader engagement/newsletter. I’ve been getting traffic like crazy, but my readers aren’t sticking around for long! Over the next few months, that’ll change. You heard it here first, I’m going to actually take advantage of my newsletter! I have email subscribers but haven’t ever sent anything… I think I’m afraid to put myself out there like that, so I promise to work on changing that.
Switch up the formatting of my blog posts. I’ve found a template that works really well for my blog images, but I’m going to work on making the design of my posts more aesthetically pleasing. More photos, better use of H2, you catch my drift?
Collab with someone. I’m all about community right now and building relationships. This month, I want to exchange guest posts with someone, so if you’re interested, let me know! 🙂
